To provide leadership in promoting excellence in nursing informatics across Alberta.


The purpose of NIAA is to bring together registered nurses and other stakeholders whose intent is to promote and advance nursing informatics in Alberta.

NIAA will provide an internet-based network where nurses can:

  • Share best evidence based practices 
  • Stay up to date with educational and networking opportunities 
  • Share health information for effective decision-making in clinical and community settings


Address the need of health professionals to be effective practitioners with ready access to current, up to date, and evidence based information relevant to a multitude of practice settings.
